A Tote For All Seasons

A Tote For All Seasons

Last December, when I made a visit to the Tiny Jewel Box trunk show, it was embarrassingly pointed out to me that I should be in the market for a new work tote.  When you’re mistaken for a pharma rep because you’re carrying around a free conference bag, that’s not a good thing.  So off I went to scout out a new bag to carry my work essentials.  I knew I wanted something sleek, chic, and sturdy.  I immediately nixed the Longchamp Pliage Tote because, although not a bad design, I wanted something unique.  And since just about every other working woman in DC owns one, I was not about to join in.  I actually also a pretty cute nylon tote at Furla-the Dama tote.  But though, reversible, did not justify the $248 price tag.

As a last resort, I went on Etsy.com in hopes of finding something custom made.  After scouring through hundreds of custom-made canvas bags, I saw it.  A classic tote made of recycled leather, with leather straps and canvas lining.  Did I mention this tote also has pockets!  The bag came in a variety of color combinations and is made in Bulgaria by a seller called allbyFEDI.  For just $57 plus shipping, it was a steal.
