City Girls and Cowboy Boots: Western boots for East coast living

I went to Houston, Texas a couple of weeks ago for a family event.  Never having spent a decent amount of time in Texas, I was intrigued about the fashion and food I might find there.  After some time with the family, the first order of business was shopping for cowboy boots.  My brother-in-law recommended I check out the Luchesse store, which had the most luxurious selection of boots (short of being custom-made).  When I opened the double doors to the Luchesse store, a wondrous sight of exotic skins and leathers laid inside. Not only was I offered wine, but vodka and bourbon too boot!

Browsing the shelves, I saw painted, multi-colored boots and boots in ostrich, lizard, and alligator. I knew I want a boot with a round toe (like those found on roper boots) and a Cuban heel.  Other than that I made myself open to anything than grabbed me.  When push came to shove, this city girl just couldn’t see herself buying tall, colorful, or exotic skin boots.  I did, however, fall in love with the aptly-named Brooklyn boot (even though it came without a Cuban heel).  Made of tan goat skin with double zippers and a featuring metallic toe detail, this boot is somewhere in between a shoe and a bootie.  The Brooklyn boot represents casual Western elegance that is far from hokey.  However, if you would like to wear a bit more boot, I also recommend ropers.  They come in a variety of colors and leathers including blush python for snake skin lovers (like myself).
